We approach the issues holistically

আমরা সার্বিকভাবে সমস্যা নিরসনে এগিয়ে যাই।

Through our medical clinics, casework, social assistance, advocacy, research and outreach programmes, we are working to address the complex and intertwined needs of migrant workers – from medical to legal, physical to emotional, mental to social.

Since 2007, we have helped thousands of migrant workers.

২০০৭ সাল থেকে শুরু করে আজ পর্যন্ত হাজারো প্রবাসী শ্রমিকের প্রতি আমরা সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছি।

  • Resilience that inspires us everyday.

When Shah* first walked through HealthServe’s doors in 2020, he felt like everything had been falling apart. It was only with his resilience and determination that he's now on the road to recovery. We, at HealthServe, are glad to have been able to journey with him thus far. Swipe to read Shah’s story!

  • Rallying for a cause.

On this International Day of Charity, we express our heartfelt appreciation to our community of donors and corporate partners for believing in HealthServe’s cause and supporting us to meet the needs of the underserved migrant worker community.

For Singapore's 56th birthday, our long-time partner Barclays championed the Singapore spirit by holding a fundraiser for HealthServe as part of the "Together, Singapore Cares" campaign by the @cityofgoodsg.

The amount raised will go towards the funding of HealthServe's services that provide healing and hope to our migrant friends in Singapore 😌

To all our #HealthServeSupporters, thank you!

  • Making progress as a community.

Over the past year, the pandemic considerably intensified our efforts to bring healing and hope to the distressed migrant worker community in Singapore. Many struggled with not being able to return home to their families in a time of crisis. Mental and physical ill-health, financial difficulties and uncertainties caused by lockdowns and lay-offs were only some of the problems our migrant brothers faced.

It was only with the support of like-minded partners, donors and volunteers that HealthServe was able to extend our services and care for over 20,000 migrant workers in a watershed year.

Thank you for journeying with us, as we now take even bigger steps forward.

  • Doing our part to care for migrant brothers under quarantine.

Over the past two weeks, we reached over 1,860 migrant workers who have been serving out their quarantine order as well as close to 40 dormitory-dwelling clients requiring social assistance. Care packs we distributed included a range of healthier snacks, daily essentials such as reusable masks, soap bars and laundry detergent as well as handy Tiger Balm plasters, and a booklet of mental wellness tips! 😌

This was only possible thanks to the generous support of our partners and donors including @barclayscorporate , Haw Par Corporation Limited, Medicore International, My Brother SG and @projectchuliastreet 🙌🏻

We hope these tokens of appreciation helped to brighten up our migrant workers’ stay in Singapore 🥰

  • Empowering our migrant brothers to care for their peers 💪🏼

Over two Sundays, 24 brothers from PPT Lodge 1A Worker Dormitory went through a comprehensive Peer Support Leader (PSL) training we conducted with MOM’s Assurance, Care & Engagement (ACE) team - They have successfully “graduated” as Peer Support Leaders! 🎉

We were privileged to have Mr Tung Yui Fai, chief of ACE team, present the certificates to our very first batch of PSLs, encouraging them to keep their spirits up in these difficult times.

Now equipped with Psychological First Aid skills, the PSLs are able to better identify and support distressed members within their own community and step up as mental health advocates.

The training does not end here. Alongside our partners, HealthServe will continue to engage and journey with more migrant friends in the coming months! ☺️

A WORLD TOGETHER

“A World Together” is a music video project in collaboration with Voices of Singapore. It features a 180-strong virtual choir of children, healthcare professionals and the HealthServe team singing, as well as interviews with our migrant friends from various industries.

THE SOLIDARITY WALL

Stand together with our migrant friends to help each other through this time by sharing a message of encouragement and hope in videos, pictures or words.

Sometimes hearing what others are going through and listening or reading words of encouragement can give you strength to fight through another day. That’s why we’ve started the Solidarity Wall where you can read and post encouraging messages and tips to each other during this time.

RESOURCES FOR MIGRANTS

Monday 13th April: To support ongoing efforts to help educate migrant workers and provide remote counselling and casework support, HealthServe launched a hotline and website in Tamil, Bengali, Chinese and English. The public can also use the hotline to submit messages of encouragement which may be published on our upcoming Solidarity Wall.
