We approach the issues holistically

আমরা সার্বিকভাবে সমস্যা নিরসনে এগিয়ে যাই।

Through our medical clinics, casework, social assistance, advocacy, research and outreach programmes, we are working to address the complex and intertwined needs of migrant workers – from medical to legal, physical to emotional, mental to social.

Since 2007, we have helped thousands of migrant workers.

২০০৭ সাল থেকে শুরু করে আজ পর্যন্ত হাজারো প্রবাসী শ্রমিকের প্রতি আমরা সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছি।

  • #ManyHelpingHands for affordable rehabilitation and therapy.

Some migrant workers who we have served suffer from work injuries that leave them unable to work as they recover, and in pain as they do. Through our regular ‘Going Home Programme’ supported by our regular volunteer occupational therapists, we aim to give injured migrant workers a better chance at rehabilitating.

Be a part of our #ManyHelpingHands by donating to our fundraiser for medical services and support programmes such as these: https://healthserve.ngo.sg/manyhelpinghands. Link in bio!

You can also find out more about volunteering opportunities here (link in bio too!): https://www.healthserve.org.sg/volunteer-application/.

  • Engaging our migrant community, with self-care in mind.

Our Outreach team has had a busy few weeks! Supported by our committed volunteers, we held health screenings, Deepavali art engagements and fruit distributions, all with the common aim of encouraging our migrant brothers to look after themselves and reach out for help should they ever need it. Our Casework team also continues to visit migrant brothers on Special Passes at their dormitories to support their everyday needs - fresh vegetables, dry food and other basic necessities.

We hope to do more with the restrictions on dorm-dwelling migrant workers finally easing. If you would like to join us as an Outreach & Engagement volunteer and help spread the Christmas cheer this holiday season, visit the link in our bio!

  • Choosing between sending money home or getting timely care for his bad toothache was a trade-off Ali (not his real name) had to consider when he was informed that dental services at a regular dental clinic would set him back by $200 - $300.

For most migrant workers, this is a substantial amount that covers rent or living expenses for their families back home.

However, this was not the only hurdle Ali faced in getting dental treatment. Swipe to find out how Ali managed to overcome this with HealthServe’s support, and regain his new smile.

By donating to our #ManyHelpingHands fundraiser, you can help supply our dental clinic with essential medication supplies to keep our operations going and provide those like Ali with more accessible dental care.

  • #ManyHelpingHands for dental care.

#DidYouKnow that aside from GP services, our clinic in Geylang also provides migrant workers dental care? Here at HealthServe, we have been offering dental services since 2015, previously at centres closer to our migrant community in Jurong and Mandai.

As we strive to ease the backlog caused by the circuit breaker in 2020 and closure of the satellite centres, we seek your support in helping bolster our dental services for those in need, and keep our consultation fees (that include medication!) low at just S$15.

Be part of our #ManyHelpingHands and donate today to support our dental services for the migrant worker community: https://healthserve.ngo.sg/manyhelpinghands. Link in bio!

  • Diagnosed with diabetes eight years ago, Halim (not his real name) struggled with finding affordable treatment in Singapore.

In 2019, Halim visited the HealthServe clinic for treatment for the first time, after learning about HealthServe through a dormitory visit by our Casework team.

As a Special Pass (SP) holder, Halim’s medical fees at our clinic are waived as SP holders are unable to work and earn as they may be awaiting outcomes of their work injury or other cases.

Swipe to learn about how we support Halim and many more migrant brothers like him, with our affordable chronic disease management services.

Donate to our #ManyHelpingHands fundraiser to cover medication costs for more patients of chronic disease like Halim: https://healthserve.ngo.sg/manyhelpinghands. Link in bio! ❤

  • Happy Deepavali! 🪔✨

For many of our Indian migrant friends who celebrate it, Deepavali is a special occasion filled with festive joy, light and love, celebrated with loved ones. While many may be away from their families, we hope they have a meaningful Deepavali and keep hope alive ❤️

  • #ManyHelpingHands for chronic disease support 🤝

🧐#DidYouKnow that every 1 in 2 migrant workers who visits our clinic suffers from at least 1 chronic illness? Chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol, are not usually covered by their insurance, which means they will need to fork out treatment fees from their own pockets, if that is even an option.

At HealthServe, we strive to provide affordable and holistic healthcare for every member of this disadvantaged group.

Be part of our #ManyHelpingHands today by donating towards our medical services and supporting more accessible healthcare for our migrant worker community in Singapore.

  • Cheering our migrant brothers on.

Recently, @bbsingapore visited our clinic in Geylang! As a gesture of support for the migrant workers, they had prepared goodie bags to be distributed alongside some sweet notes of encouragement.

Thank you for putting a smile on our brothers’ faces! 🥰

  • Walking the long journey home, together 💪

This International Occupational Therapy Day, we recognise and appreciate the hard work of our dedicated volunteer occupational therapists!

Occupational therapy is often an essential part of the healing process for injured migrant workers, especially those awaiting the outcomes of their work injury cases. HealthServe's very own "Going Home Programme", supported by our regular volunteer physiotherapists like Adelene and Ernie, helps injured workers recover gradually, well enough to be able to go home safe and healthy. Services like these help us strive towards accessible and holistic care for migrant workers. ❤

A WORLD TOGETHER

“A World Together” is a music video project in collaboration with Voices of Singapore. It features a 180-strong virtual choir of children, healthcare professionals and the HealthServe team singing, as well as interviews with our migrant friends from various industries.

THE SOLIDARITY WALL

Stand together with our migrant friends to help each other through this time by sharing a message of encouragement and hope in videos, pictures or words.

Sometimes hearing what others are going through and listening or reading words of encouragement can give you strength to fight through another day. That’s why we’ve started the Solidarity Wall where you can read and post encouraging messages and tips to each other during this time.

RESOURCES FOR MIGRANTS

Monday 13th April: To support ongoing efforts to help educate migrant workers and provide remote counselling and casework support, HealthServe launched a hotline and website in Tamil, Bengali, Chinese and English. The public can also use the hotline to submit messages of encouragement which may be published on our upcoming Solidarity Wall.
