A passionate public health champion for vulnerable low-wage migrant workers, Dr Benjamin Kuan first served as a medical volunteer before he joined HealthServe in 2020. He hit the ground running at the peak of COVID-19 as Head of Medical Services, leading HealthServe’s frontline teams through an unprecedented crisis.
Ben is a strong believer of public-private-people-philanthropy (4P) partnerships for sustainable development to plug societal gaps.
A family physician by training and at heart, he holds an MBA from the joint UCLA-NUS GEMBA programme and a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore.
Prior to joining the social services sector, Ben spent a decade of his professional life with a health technology and medical clinic group that provides managed care and workplace health solutions for ecosystem players.
Outside of work, he is an avid motorcyclist dreaming of riding cross-border someday for a charitable cause. And like many other HealthServe colleagues, Ben loves cats and motorcycles — but not cats on motorcycles.

Alvin Choo

Alvin’s transition into the social services sector was driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the well-being of migrant workers in Singapore and promote a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
Alvin spent 26 years in the airline, hospitality, healthcare and food & beverage industries. During this time, he worked overseas in several European, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries, gaining broad experiences in operations, sales & marketing, product development and service excellence.
Alvin holds a Graduate Diploma in Communications Management and Innovation from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Boston University.
In his free time, Alvin enjoys playing golf and going for morning swims.

Joel Goh

Joel is a seasoned practitioner in the social services sector. Over the past decade, he has led multidisciplinary teams of staff and volunteers to bring about services filled with empathy and growth. His community acumen has resulted in the development of relevant intervention strategies, valuing clients’ culture and context.
Committed to helping others reach their full potential, Joel has conceptualised and conducted capability building programmes in both the social services sector and educational institutions – across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
Joel is a versatile professional trained in various specialties, including behavioural science, community work, psychometric testing, and therapeutic techniques. He holds a Master’s in Counselling from Monash University.
Every night and day, Joel and his cat play a never-ending game of cat and mouse.

Jeffrey Chua

Jeffrey began his journey with HealthServe in 2010 as a volunteer helping to organise events for migrant workers. Today, he is a familiar face to many of our migrant brothers, some of whom have even invited him to their hometowns in China!
Formerly HealthServe’s Head of Casework & Social Services, Jeffrey now focuses on training and development of our migrant worker community in mental health.
Equipped with a Master’s in Social Work from the Singapore University of Social Sciences, Jeffrey is also a certified grief counsellor and trained in Psychological First Aid. He completed the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and performance 2.0 in July 2023.
Jeffrey also sits on the Board of Ling Kwang Nursing Home.
One to appreciate Chinese culture and coffee, Jeffrey can sometimes be spotted ringing bells in St Andrew's Cathedral.

Inspiring change, one story at a time.
Since Kai Fong started her career in communications, she has been both intrigued and driven by the power of effective storytelling to inspire social change. After spending a decade in the worlds of journalism, corporate communications and digital marketing across the private and public sectors, she took a leap of faith into the social services space and has not looked back since.
Championing a more compassionate and equitable society, she strives to advocate for the well-being of disadvantaged groups on a systemic level.
Kai Fong holds a Graduate Diploma in Social Work and Bachelor of Arts (Communications and New Media) from the National University of Singapore.
Outside of work, she can often be found on the tennis courts or getting lost in the great outdoors – where you might not find her.

Holding over 16 years of experience in financial accounting, Jenny possesses a deep understanding of the legislative framework that governs charities as well as expertise in grant management. Her skills and commitment have positioned HealthServe to meticulously and efficiently allocate donors’ contributions in accordance with the intended objectives. Jenny is fastidious in ensuring that HealthServe’s financial management structure remains robust and relevant, further enhancing the organisation’s fiscal integrity.
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Economics (specialisation in Accountancy) from the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, as well as a Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the PSB Academy, Singapore.
She enjoys team sports and is an active member of her badminton interest group.

Peggy holds more than 20 years of experience spanning across the fields of business development and client relationship management, business strategy and consulting, human capital and change management, as well as communications. Building upon her various sectors and industries experience including consulting, commercial sectors, financial and banking institutions as well as non-profit and government-linked organisations, Peggy's transition to the social services sector is driven by her passion to bring a seamless, holistic and stewardship management mindset to the retail, corporate and institutional donors and partners.
Peggy believes in engaging and stewarding donor relationships to attain their optimal engagement and to foster a lasting partnership that aligns with organization's values and goals.
Peggy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons), Marketing from the National University of Singapore and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Labour & Management Relations (Scholastic Award).
In her free time she enjoys painting in various media and swimming.

Prior to joining HealthServe, May spent 12 years helming the media and communications department of a community-based social service organisation. In her professional career, she has also worked extensively in advertising and media-related roles. May's capacity for empathy and desire to be of support fuels her passion to make a positive impact in people's lives.
To unwind, May finds joy in engaging in activities such as playing a round of tennis or cycling. In addition, she finds relaxation through playing music on the piano.

Teresa brings with her over 13 years of experience as a volunteer management practitioner in the social services sector, where she journeyed alongside families, the elderly and the terminally ill. She is adept at developing both individual volunteers and corporate partners, as well as establishing and implementing best practices in volunteer management within non-profit organisations. Her commitment to instill a volunteer-positive culture empowers staff and volunteers alike, enhancing organisational growth.
Teresa volunteers actively in caring for and finding new homes for homeless dogs. In her free time, she bakes and knits.

Passionate about guiding clients through their journeys of healing and self-discovery, Durga holds more than six years of experience in delivering psychotherapy and counselling services to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and demographics. Adopting a multidisciplinary and integrative framework, she tailors each client’s treatment according to their needs and strengths.
Durga’s clinical life began as trained Physiotherapist, and she holds master's degree in advanced counselling and clinical supervision. She is trained in many advanced forms of psychological therapies and is a registered counsellor and clinical member of the Singapore association for counselling (SAC).
Her self-care routine includes reading academic journals, watching Korean dramas and guiding as a volunteer docent at major museums in Singapore.

An accountant and a nurse by profession, Aubrey spent four years volunteering at HealthServe’s clinic before transitioning from the corporate world to HealthServe in 2020. She considers her role as Senior Clinic Manager for Clinic Operations not a job but a ministry where she can serve.
She also volunteers with Lions Befriender and HOPE Worldwide (Singapore).
Aubrey looks forward to her monthly art class, mentoring sessions with her three teenage girls, and trips to Cambodia where her grandson lives. She also enjoys spending time with friends, whether locally or overseas.

Xiaoke had been volunteering with HealthServe since 2018.
He currently works as a family physician and holds a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore. He has also undergone training in hand surgery and has obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (UK).
In his free time, Xiaoke is a homebody but wouldn't mind an occasional adventure if given the opportunity.

A familiar face to many in the HealthServe community, Yvonne builds capacity within the organisation’s corporate functions of human resources, organisational development, and finance & operations. She spent her earlier years in the casework team, helming HealthServe’s migrant outreach and engagement initiatives.
Yvonne has deep interest in the fields of human development and public health. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) from the National University of Singapore, and a Graduate Diploma in Community Leadership & Social Development from the Singapore University of Social Sciences.
Yvonne is active in church ministry and supports missions overseas. She is a bookworm with an insatiable appetite for sudoku and jigsaw puzzles.
