Volunteer Manager

We are looking for someone who is keen to join us in advocating for a society where every migrant worker lives a life of health, well-being and dignity. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Volunteer Manager is part of our Corporate Services Team, which works closely with diverse stakeholders to bridge and build communities.

Volunteer Manager Job Description

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for building relationships in the volunteer community and driving efforts in volunteer recruitment, coordination, training, scheduling, communication, retention and appreciation to ensure HealthServe provides positive volunteer experiences and engages volunteers where possible to fulfil its mission.

Responsibilities

Recruit and Engage Volunteers

  • Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for actively soliciting new volunteers and engaging existing volunteers
  • Work in partnership with Communications and Engagement team to recruit and engage volunteers, whether individual, local business/ corporate, Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) and/ or migrant workers
  • Interview and place volunteers for specific needs such as committee, office and special events

Train Volunteers

  • Ensure all volunteers are trained for their position and understand the affiliate’s mission and programmes.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and tour of the office premises to help new volunteers get settled into their roles.

Volunteer Data Reporting and Synthesising

  • Leverage tech/ digital platforms and data-driven insights for management reporting
  • Manage the volunteer management database and ensure that it is kept up to date

Schedule Volunteers

  • Prepare volunteer schedules that works for everyone, ensuring the right number of volunteers is available to handle the extra work.

Determine the Need for Volunteers

  • Some volunteers stay with the same organisation for years, but others stop volunteering after just a few months. The Volunteer Manager must be able to anticipate these changes and plan accordingly.

Requirements/ Skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; enjoys engaging volunteers and comfortable interacting with people from different cultures and religions
  • Able to multi-task and work well with a diverse group of professionals from the public and private sectors
  • Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Event coordination and management experience is a plus
  • Willing and able to be present for selected volunteering sessions (evenings)
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, strong team player with good cross-organisational collaborative skills
