Volunteer
As a community development organisation, HealthServe seeks to provide a platform for volunteers towards social responsibility and service while fostering an open-learning community. HealthServe is always on the lookout for volunteers willing to take on and be committed to the roles and responsibilities in the following capacities.
Medical
- Doctors
- Nurses
- Counsellors
- Clinic Assistants
Commitment: At least once a month at the Geylang or Little India Clinic Roles and responsibilities: Conduct medical screening and prescribe treatments For Doctors & Nurses: Recognised qualifications from recognised institutions For Clinic Assistants: On-the-job training will be provided
For Counsellors: Qualifications in psychology, social work or counselling from recognised institutions Commitment: At least once a week at the Geylang Clinic
Events
- Programme Supporters
- Event Managers
Commitment: Able to manage project till completion (3-6 months) Roles & Responsibilities: To work with other volunteers, churches or partner organisations to conceptualise, plan and coordinate events Requirements: Event management skills
Communications
- Writers
- Photographers
- Videographers
Commitment: 6 months, minimum Roles & Responsibilities: Writers to cover and report on our events in a clear, succint manner; photographers or videographers (preferably with own equipment) to capture good shots at our events Requirements: Passion for writing; Good photography/videography skills
All would-be volunteers are required to attend our orientation programme, which is conducted every last Tuesday of the month at the Geylang Clinic. It is a two-hour structured programme that begins at 6.45pm. Volunteers will sit through a pre-field visit introduction, field exposure and a group reflection and discussion.
