We are excited to introduce new staff members, as well as a new role for a familiar face here at HealthServe!
Michael joined HealthServe as the Executive Director in February 2018 after serving as a volunteer since 2014. Prior to coming on board at HealthServe, he worked as the Regional Sales Director in a Singapore IT company. He has also served as the Head of Operations and Strategic Development for a non-profit organisation.
Michael is passionate about working with migrant workers and marginalised communities in Singapore. His personal ambition to bring healing and hope to those in need will serve him well as he leads the staff here at HealthServe!
Dr. Natarajan Rajaraman
Head, Medical Services
Dr. Natarajan Rajaraman (Raj) also joined HealthServe in February of this year and will be overseeing the operations of the medical and dental clinics, as well as the development of community-based health programmes, research, education, and health-related external collaborations.
Raj has a background in medicine, global public health, and education. His specific interests are in the health of vulnerable populations and post-conflict health systems strengthening. Since joining the team at HealthServe, Raj has been inspired by the resilience of our migrant brothers and the generosity of our volunteers and partners.
Head, Casework & Social Assistance
Jeffrey has been a staff member at HealthServe since 2011, but recently transitioned to the Head of Casework & Social Assistance. Prior to his work with HealthServe, Jeffrey spent about 18 years working with machines and computers. After taking 3 months to volunteer with an NGO in Cambodia, he chanced upon HealthServe while attending a course and started volunteering in 2010. When he joined the staff the following year, he felt the need to strengthen HealthServe’s case work and social assistance programmes. To this end, he pursued a Masters in Social Work while continuing to contribute to the organisation.
Today, he oversees the case work, counselling and social assistance arm at HealthServe. Working closely with the migrant community, he also has the opportunity to collaborate with interns, counsellors, and volunteers from various disciplines. He is grateful for and invigorated by their common vision to help our migrant friends have a better life and hope for the future.
